  24. It sounds about right though.  I went into Escom this very evening to look
  25. at external modems. Here's what happend:

  29. Me:    a 28.8 external MODEM.
  30. Sales: Well this is the best one, the Hayes with free trial internet....
  31. Me:    Does it does V34 and V.FC?
  32. Sales: Mmmm.  What computer do you have?
  33. Me:    Amiga.
  34. Sales: Mmmm.  Oh dear.
  35. Me:    It'll work with Amiga.
  36. Sales: Will it?
  37. Me:    Yes with the right lead.
  38. Sales: I didn't know that.
  39. Me:    <looks at the box> Yes, it does V34 and V.FC.
  40. Sales: Really?
  41. Me:    I'll take one.

  43. I think I should have got a discount for educating the "Man from Escom".

  45. Also  they had an Amiga connected to an Amiga M1438S running the very, very
  46. impressive  insert  Workbench animated disk display.  Wow.  At least it was
  47. in  a  prominent  position,  just a pitty it wasn't running a doom clone or
  48. some other good looking game or app.
